Life is full of risks. And it is not always clear, what risks are worth taking. For example, did you know that Warner Brothers was producing the movie, Home Alone, but they pulled the plug on it at the last minute? They decided the $14 million cost was simply too high. There was no way they’d recoup their expenses.
21st Century Fox disagreed. They picked up the project, and the film grossed $476 million.
Like Warner Brothers, we will all swing and miss sometimes.
John wrote, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8).
The key is to not define yourself by your misses. When Home Alone became a huge box office success, Warner Brothers didn’t fold their tent and go out of business. They kept producing great movies.

Recovery Step: Focus on one area in which you can make progress this week. Just one.
